November was a very eventful month at citema, before we head into the Christmas festivities.

At the Munich University of Applied Sciences, which organises the annual HOKO on the Lothstraße campus, we met many interested students and graduates – for us, this once again confirmed that the HOKO is one of the absolute must-attend university fairs.

The evening gala at the Bayerischer Hof, which is organised annually by VDE Bayern, also revolved around the next generation of technologists. The VDE Bavaria Evening is a great format with which VDE Bavaria draws attention to remarkable technological research projects and successful training concepts. We were delighted to be able to support the gala as a sponsor again this year.

With 200 invited guests from the defense technology industry, the Bundeswehr, science and politics – including the presence of the CSU party leadership – the Foreign and Security Policy Working Group (ASP) brought together a high-calibre audience at the 15th Defence Technology Congress (WTK 2024) at the Airbus Defence site in Manching. After welcoming speeches by Florian Hahn, Member of the German Bundestag (Defence Policy Spokesman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group and ASP State Chairman) and Dr Michael Schöllhorn (CEO Airbus Defence and Space), the CSU party chairman and Bavarian Minister President Dr Markus Söder gave the keynote speech in the morning. Among other things, he emphasised the necessity of the debate on the reintroduction of compulsory military service as well as Germany’s and Europe’s responsibility in terms of security policy. In order to fulfil this responsibility, the armed forces must be appropriately funded and staffed.

With the congress, the ASP gives all well-known companies in the defense sector and their CEOs the valuable opportunity to discuss highly topical and important issues from the security and defense industry.

In a presentation at the congress, our Sales Manager for Cyber Security Hildegard von Waldenfels highlighted the impact of the Cyber Resilience Act, which was recently passed at EU level in October 2024 and affects manufacturers of products with digital elements. The industry will face major challenges, even in areas with the highest security requirements. In the dual-use segment in particular, the CRA will have a significant impact on the product development process.

Will the Cyber Resilience Act also affect your products? We will be happy to advise you. Contact us here: Contact form
