At the VDE Bayern Award 2022 last Thursday, November 17, the VDE turned the spotlight on Bavaria’s young talents in technology and research by honoring their outstanding scientific achievements from a wide range of categories such as robotics, wireless communication or autonomous driving.

Events like the VDE Bayern Award contribute to the visibility of technological progress. Therefore, the citema group is very pleased to have participated in this important task as a sponsor of this very special event. Since 2019, citema has been involved with the VDE, providing support at various events across Bavaria.

To kick off the evening, the 200 invited guests from politics, business and science followed a top-class panel discussion on the topic “Safe. Sustainable. Innovative. How do we shape a future worth living?”. Minister of State Dr. Florian Herrmann, Head of the Bavarian State Chancellery, Prof. Dr. Armin Schnettler, VDE President, Prof. Dr. Christoph Kutter, Director of Fraunhofer EMFT, and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang M. Heckl, Director General of the Deutsches Museum, explored this question, discussed the current need for action in Bavaria’s promotion of innovation and young talents and explained concrete approaches to solutions. After the award ceremony at the imposing ballroom of the Bayerischer Hof, the program moved seamlessly into an informal networking evening.

Many thanks to Peter Rief, Julia Schuster and Klaus Bayer of VDE Bayern for organizing this outstanding event.
